9 Science/Math

1)      Assignments for Mr. Davis should be on D2L by the evening of Monday, April 6th, and every Monday thereafter. Go to D2L for this class, read the assignment and get started on it. (Note: more information about how to submit your typed, written or other work will be coming at a later date, so please don’t send me an email about this.)

2)      Please read the Google Meet guidelines that have (or will be) posted in your D2L class.

3)      Mr. Davis - Google Meet Science gr.9 every Tuesday at 11:00-11:30am
1)      Mr. Davis - Google Meet math 9 every Wednesday at 11:00-11:30am

This meet time is to ask further questions about the assignment, to get extra help or ask questions. The expectation is that you will have already read and started the assignment before the meet up.

4)      Understand that it will take a week or two to get everything sorted. Please regularly read the blog and check D2L. We recognize that it is new for everyone – the teachers included, so we expect it to take some time before everything is working for everyone, and things are going smoothly, so please remain calm and be patient.

5)      If the D2L assignment requires reading and you have challenges with reading, then you should be using some software such as Google Read & Write to help you. If you need assistance with this then contact one of your teachers.

I look forward to hearing/seeing you all in the near future. Take care,

Mr. Davis

Google Meet Rules

These rules are for the safety and privacy off all students and teachers involved in our Google Meet Hangouts. These meetings are for Educational Purposes only and need to be handled responsibly by everyone involved.

1.     Please use REAL First & Last Name.

2.    These meetings are for our class only, DO NOT send the Google Meet invitation to anyone outside of our class to keep our session confidential.

3.     DO NOT record the Google Meet with any type of device. There are very serious privacy issues if anyone is caught recording sessions, and this may result in the school contacting the police. We need to ensure that the privacy of all of our students is protected. Only the Teacher may record the discussion for future use.

4.     Once in the Google Meet Hangout, keep Microphone muted at all times. You are able to unmute yourself when you would like to share something with the class but we ask that you try and remember to mute your microphone afterwards so there is less noise while your peers or teacher are talking.

5.     Google Chrome is the easiest browser for the Google Meet as it will connect seamlessly. If you do not have google chrome and are not sure how to download it please send your teacher an email.

6.     Please enter the Google Meet Hangout on time so that we are not waiting for you to get started. If you are going to be late/can’t make it please let your teacher know so we don’t wait for you J

7.     We know it is exciting to “see each other”, however, it is still class time. As there is so many of us logged in at one time we will all need to work together to make sure that the time is productive (i.e., save side conversations with friends for outside class time).
